My mom was just diagnosed last Wednesday with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the liver. Her biopsy and cat scan showed the tumor to be 10 cm by 8 cm. She had endometrial cancer 3 years ago and had a hysterectomy they did radiation for 6 weeks and 2 years later went to 1 time a year blood tests. Her last blood test was November and that was when they found abnormal liver results. Can cancer grow that fast? Or did her doctor "drop the ball" in ordering 1 time a year blood work? I am angry at her doctor. She has not talked to my mom about what to expect, just gave her the name of an oncologist to make an appointment with. We have that appointment on Thurs. Jan.4.

I found this website and was hoping for some help with how to deal with this. I love my mom dearly, (she is only 74) she has always been there for me and my kids and grandkids.

This is a terrible disease and I guess everyone deals with it differently. But if you have any advice, I'd really appreciate it. And I'd love to hear about you and your "journey".

Thanks,
Cathy Martin
