Metastatic Liver Cancer Secrets

Cancer treatment in my case is pain management. More pain more painkiller case closed, so said my doctor. And some constipation problems, sounds manageable.

What day is it today and other secrets…

What they didn’t tell me was that I would not remember what day it is. Very bad, since I lost a bet thinking that friday is still 2 days away… Yet it is thursday today. I mentioned before that I forget things, yet it is not only forgetting, it is also “forgetting” logical steps or logical thinking. So if you want to make soup having lots of painkillers, write sugar on the sugar pot and salt on the salt pot…

My mom was just diagnosed last Wednesday with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the liver. Her biopsy and cat scan showed the tumor to be 10 cm by 8 cm. She had endometrial cancer 3 years ago and had a hysterectomy they did radiation for 6 weeks and 2 years later went to 1 time a year blood tests. Her last blood test was November and that was when they found abnormal liver results. Can cancer grow that fast? Or did her doctor “drop the ball” in ordering 1 time a year blood work? I am angry at her doctor. She has not talked to my mom about what to expect, just gave her the name of an oncologist to make an appointment with. We have that appointment on Thurs. Jan.4.

I found this website and was hoping for some help with how to deal with this. I love my mom dearly, (she is only 74) she has always been there for me and my kids and grandkids.

This is a terrible disease and I guess everyone deals with it differently. But if you have any advice, I’d really appreciate it. And I’d love to hear about you and your “journey”.

    Thanks,
    Cathy Martin
