Why and how they need to look before they cut you open

Published by Liver Cancer at 11:26 pm under Health

As a person whose father died of metastatic liver cancer, I am happy to write this sponsored post about Medicexchange: a portal about medical imaging or in proper English: noninvasive screening with scans or sonar.

Why everybody needs to read Medicexchange

If you think the Medicexchange portal is only for a specialised audience of radiologists then think again:

  • you better know what these so called specialists are reading (or are supposed to be reading!)

An example:

  • Why the doctors never found fathers’ primary cancer.
  • Because doctors didn’t use virtual colonoscopy.

The colonoscopy got stuck in fathers’ intestine. With all respect for this medieval looking doctor and his medieval colonoscopy: if he had read the article at Medicexchange and his hospital would have had the right equipment, father would have had an extra option. for father’s diagnosis.

Father would probably have got chemo-therapy and again here would have benefited of another article of Medicexchange: Exploring better ways to determine when to change the course of metastatic colorectal cancer treatment.

Completely the opposite of the advice he gave us: don’t surf around too much on the Internet… Just imagine that kind of answer when your father is dying…

What to find on Medicexchange

Medicexchange is a well designed web portal targeting professionals in the Radiology. The site provides:

  • medical software designed for solving radiological problems
  • an abundance of the latest news and other helpful information
  • a free newsletter
  • 6 communities specialized in:
    • Breast Imaging
    • Cardiac
    • Abdominal-Pelvic
    • Musculoskeletal
    • Thoracic
    • Neuro

Again: Medicexchange targets a specialised audience of Radiologists, technicians and allied health staff.

Chance is small that as a patient you are going to download and try a free trial for 3D-Doctor modeling medical software. But it’s in your best interest that you know what other non invasive screening methods exist. Being well informed gives you more reasons and options which hospital to choose for better treatment.

endoscopyJust imagine what extra information the doctors get when you are examined in a hospital using the latest HDTV endoscopy techniques compared to the normal "oldfashion" endoscopy.

Conclusion:

Medicexchangeis a 1 stop portal

Make sure you are a well informed health care costumer. Before doctors tell you they need to cut you open in order to have a look what’s happening inside your body, read about better and less intrusive medical imaging news or read the latest healthcare news.
