Trading a house for life-time help
This weekend was quite fruitful for mother. And that’s easy; seeing all the happy faces that don’t mind mom sulking for the first few minutes of the day: cheerfulness is addictive
On the other hand there is a new idea on how to help out our aging mother. One of my nieces just married and is going to have her firstborn baby in a few months. Now she always wanted to live overseas, so we asked her: why don’t you live in mom’s house to help her out for the rest of her life.
The idea is loved both by mom as our niece, just until the most practical question popped up by mom: suppose I fall from the stairs and your baby cries for food: whom do you help first?
Seems we need to make sure we have an automatic baby feeder or get rid of the stairs…
Serious: the idea is there, now let’s see if it really workable. Niece has to go to a new country and gets and a baby and mom to look after for, so it’s something we need to plan bit more.
