Although father is no more actively updating his cancer story site, he still keeps on talking. So let me write down some sentences he says: these sentences are snapshots but are very useful when summarizing what actually happens during palliative care.
Tired and sleepy
I am so tired,
I could sleep for 2 days.
There are days that father sleeps more than 20 hours a day.

Duragesic patch
Father is taking Duragesic patches: Duragesic provides continuous pain relief for 72 hours… we are talking morphine here.
Duragesic side effects
Is this a typical duragesic patch problem, or is it the metastatic liver cancer taking all energy out of father?
We notice a Duragesic patch side effects pattern:
- the day after father’s pain killer patch is changed: he sleeps 21 hours out of 24.
- The day that this pain killer patch needs to be changed: father wakes up very early and is active all day. Active as in not in bed.
Are we the only ones having these duragesic patch side effects, if not, please leave a comment.

Since cancer happens to be at times a terminal disease, many cancer voices are silenced because of it. This makes cancer a problem that is not discussed about much. Added to that there is a taboo about cancer, for the simple reason that people think it is their fault they have cancer… Sad but true.
Cancer in mybloglog.
I asked the members of mybloglog who has cancer or who knows somebody that has cancer? On 1 day 2 voices of 2 complete strangers…. follow their links to check them out.
Breast cancer
My mom had her breast removed and a part of her lung removed because of cancer.
Colon cancer
I have a few relatives having cancer. Recently my cousin got colon cancer and now recovering from it.
