breast cancer survivor stories

We got a pessimistic sounding comment of Anne at Can chemotherapy cure metastatic liver cancer?. Therefore we call on all breast cancer survivors to share their stories with Anne on our special breast cancer stories pages:

We started these 2 breast cancer sites because breast cancer treatments have some things in common that you won’t find with metastatic liver cancer patients.

But when it comes to pain, stress, emotional drain and loved ones, all cancers boil down to similar feelings and questions like "why me".

You need to know that you are not alone. Lot’s of other people have walked the same cancer journey you are about to experience. Just in the above picture: Ellen Degeneres’ mother is a breast cancer survivor. Sheryl Crow is also a survivor… There are more people around you with cancer that are not speaking up because:

  • there is still a big taboo covering cancer

  • there is still not enough cancer awareness: lot’s of cancer patients and care givers don’t talk to others because they think it’s a waste of time: some people think cancer is just another disease like the flu is, "so you should carry on and get over it"…

What all cancer patients and care givers have in common, I find, is that they go to the "core of what’s important and what’s not, who is important and who can wait for the time being".

So all of you who have walked the cancer path themselves or with their loved ones, please share your stories. Sharing is empowering other cancer patients and care-givers to continue their journey with less bumps and more sharing souls.

Quoting Ranjit Kaur:

… now you know

you are not alone

we have been through this part of the journey

that you are now experiencing

we are here for you to relieve your stress

as you will one day be around for some one else…

Ranjit Kaur is a breast cancer survivor herself. Her breast cancer journey started with the question "why me" and at this moment she is President of the Malaysian Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA).

Ranjit is only one of the breast cancer survival stories that can help you get through your journey a bit easier than when you walk it alone.

Anne’s breast cancer story

Anne left her comment at Can chemotherapy cure metastatic liver cancer? referring to Jackie 43 years old passed away to metastatic liver cancer :

Hi ya,

I’m so sorry to hear of Jackie’s passing away.

I ve been diagnosed with breast cancer early stage and know I will survive and it hurts me to see people suffer from lost ones.

I’m 41 and diagnosed when 39. Never thought I’d see this day but I am pessimistic and think it will kill me eventually, so hope you’re doing ok hun…
