Elizabeth Edwards death

Elizabeth Edwards Death

California’s first lady Maria Shriver remembers Elizabeth Edwards death on Tuesday as a "mighty warrior."

Elizabeth, the former wife of former presidential candidate and U.S. Senator John Edwards, died of cancer at age 61, after being diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago. She died in the surrounding of her North Carolina home aside her 3 children, siblings, friends and her estranged husband, John.

Every cancer patient is a mighty warrior, and it becomes even a more difficult battle when your spouse doesn’t support you but in stead goes sleeping around with another woman and making babies. The couple separated in January this year and by now we all know stress doesn’t help when treating a cancer.

Elizabeth Edwards was an active health care reform advocate, understanding the lack of treatment available for those who don’t have the financial wealth like she had.

We will remember Elizabeth for sharing her intimate struggles with cancer, with the pain of losing her hair, about the efforts to assure her children about their mother’s future and the questions about how many days she had left to live.

This month, when doctors told Elisabeth that further cancer treatment wouldn’t benefit her anymore, she told the world days before her death:

"The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered," she wrote. "We know that. And yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful."

We hereby offer our condolences to friends and family of Elizabeth Edwards and everybody else who died with cancer.
