Keep healthy with foods that prevent cancer: broccoli and other cruciferous veggies such as cabbage, cauliflower, kale, turnip greens, mustard greens and collard greens.
For those already being diagnosed with secondary liver cancer, we have no proof whatsoever that eating healthy could make you healthy enough to cure your cancer. Changing bad habits before you get cancer is a good choice, changing bad habits once the cancer can’t be cured will even further reduce "quality of life". In other words: Patrick Swayze didn’t quit smoking when he had pancreatic cancer, because Patrick believed the cancer couldn’t be stopped.

- Although green leafy vegetables should become part of your cancer prevention diet, like with all things in life, go for a balanced meal with lots of variety. Since we don’t have 1 clear cut treatment for cancer, we could logically deduct that health can be found in variety, not in 1 single pill nor 1 single life style change! Vegetables should be taken in raw, steamed or lightly sauteed as cooking is believed to destroy the nutritional property of the food.
- Fruits are not only a rich source of vitamins and minerals, fruits also have anti-cancerous properties. Especially grapefruits and oranges rich in vitamin C do get rid of carcinogens from your body. Papaya prevents the absorption of nitrosamines from processed food which are cancerous. Avoiding processed food all together is also a smart choice to keep cancer free. Fresh fruit juices are also very beneficial. However care must be taken to choose fresh, organically grown fruits. The packaged fruit juices should be avoided as they have unnecessary high sugar are rich in calories and have non existent nutritional value nor any benefits against cancer, unless you substitute them with even worse drinks like fuzzy soft drinks.
- Fibrous foods such as bran, whole wheat bread, pulses, apple, and peaches should be eaten daily. This helps to prevent bowel, colon, rectum and stomach cancer.
- As mentioned above, processed foods like luncheon meat, salami, or potato wafers to name a few, should be taken in minimal quantity. These food items are rich in salt and fatty acids. Their contribution to your health is basically zero. They cause obesity which further leads to cancer in stomach, colon, kidney, gall bladder, pancreas etc.
- Salt and sugar should be taken in moderation. Excessive sodium intake is not healthy and so is excessive sugar which adds so called empty calories. As much as you love the red color in vegetables, as much should you avoid the red color in meat. Red meat like beef, lamb, and pork should be taken once a week in less quantity. Non vegetarians should include more fish in their daily diet as it has anti cancerous benefits and fish oil is also known to reduce risk of cancer.
- Drink more water in order to flush out toxins from the body.
- Alcohol consumption should be in moderation as excessive intake leads to oral cancer and cancer of throat and/or larynx.
- We already mentioned above and we will repeat it again: smokers should be extra careful and should cut down on smoking. Quit smoking to make sure that you and the people around you – having to breath in your smoke
– become less susceptible to cancer.
Being healthy is the most essential thing for a happy living. Hence do take care to eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables and variety. Do exercise more and eat as little processed junk food as possible in order to prevent cancer and stay healthy for many years to come.
