Since a metastatic cancer is a cancer that has spread, preventing it means preventing the primary cancer to cause more havoc or preventing people get cancer in the first place.

However, this is only 1 person’s gut feeling: what happened to scientific research? Isn’t it amazing that you have to look hard for any scientific research that gives a clear cut answer to what causes cancer? I mean. how are they ever going to find a cure, if they can’t even tell you what the cause is?
When treating a secondary cancer: treatment is based on eliminating the source: in this case the primary cancer. However in treating the primary cancer, suddenly treatment is no more based on eliminating the source why the cells are growing excessively. The standard cure being chemotherapy simply destroys the cancer cells – no questions asked – and hopes to succeed before the entire body dies in the process.
Why is there so little research about the causes of cancer? And if you don’t know the cause, how are you going to cure it, let alone to prevent it from happening?
