6 years old and needing chemotherapy… We got more reader’s input about Amanda’s question about the Avastin chemotherapy drug.
This time we see that a combination of the following 3 chemotherapy drugs : Avastin, Dosataxol and Gemcitabine is working for 7 year old boy having Angiosarcoma of the liver. The side effects of his chemotherapy are mild says his father Jon.
Anybody who has been in contact with Angiosarcoma of the liver, please leave a comment, your hugs and prayers: Jon’s son is only 7 years old and already one year undergoing different types of chemotherapy.

I have a 7 yrs. old boy who has Angiosarcoma in the liver.
He has had his spleen removed and has been doing chemo now for about a year.
Thank god he is not sick and he does not have many side effects.
Just throwing this out there because I can not find out much about people having this type of cancer. Very rare..??

My 7 year old son has been on Avastin, Dosataxol(?) and Gemcitabine for about a year now and the doctors and the MRI scans seem to show we are headed in the right direction. Chemotherapy treatment is every 2 weeks and the chemotherapy side effects are mild.
My 56 year old sister who was diagnosed with Stage IV advanced Adenocarcinoma Liver Cancer on September 11, 2008 has tried the 3 named Chemotherapy drugs Avastin, Dosataxol and Gemcitabine(Gemzar) and the cancer she has ate right through the Chemo. Her tumors have multiplied in size and now she is in her final stages of dying. So unfortunately, the chemo you mentioned didn’t work for my sister, who by the way had no symptoms whatsoever. Her cancer was found on a CAT Scan when she fell and hurt her side. The top of her liver was on the scan and that’s where her tumors were. She had been under the care of several doctors for her high cholesterol drug therapy. Why didn’t they test her liver function while on all those drugs?????
