Stomach Cancer Story

stomach cancer story

We read this stomach cancer story 4 years ago at our metastatic liver cancer site. It seems to be written by a medical student and it is one of the rare stomach cancer stories people have shared with us so far.

Azlin says:

I saw my grandpa having a small tumor in the stomach. It spreads to colon, colorectal, lung and finally the heart.

It’s very very painful, even with the morphine.

At times, it’s very painful for the medical staff to bear seeing this agony.

We add to that: even when you have the pain under control, you need to also cope with the side effects of these pain killers. The main problem is that pain killers cause constipation so you need to closely monitor how regular the stools are.

Sounds easy but you have to know that when the next day the pain becomes stronger, more painkillers need to be given and more constipation is most likely to happen: you need to constantly adapt to a new situation (as if having the stomach cancer isn’t stressful enough already).

Please share your stomach cancer story so others can benefit from what you have gone through.
