Another metastatic liver cancer

Answer to comment on: Metastatic Liver Cancer Secrets

Strangely but true: the older we get, the LESS preventive blood-tests are taken, (I got from 6 months suddenly to only 1 test a year by a different doctor than the one that used to do my 6 month tests…) as if doctors think we are at an age we are going to die anyway, so why bother???

Things to do when you hear that your loved one has metastatic liver cancer

  • get a clear first opinion about the new cancer, which is the primary cancer? (go see the doc of your mom yourself and talk to him asap)
  • get a second opinion from somebody "specialised" in that cancer field
  • find a doctor that is known to be talkative (a good communicator), be it one of your friends or family and retell the cancer story, get another opinion
  • change your anger in energy to help your mother now (you can always sue a doctor later, yet that takes years and is no help for your mom now)
  • make sure before your appointment on the 4th that you know what cancer you are dealing with
